ABOUT

Welcome to The Nexus, a Charmed Trading Card Game.

What is a Trading Card Game? Well it's just the same as collecting stamps, or baseball cards, or shot glasses (",) The only difference is that it's played online.

When you join you will be emailed a basic starter pack which will contain 9 cards [maybe more if you read the rules].
You display these cards on your trade log (see info page) and you can earn cards through playing games, and trading with other players so you get more of the cards you want and less of the ones you don't.
Playing games is the easiest way to earn more cards for your collection, giving you more trading power.
The aim of the game is to collect all the cards in each set, which we call mastering.

What you need to play the game

- A website (hosted, or free with geocities or something)
- A valid email address. How else can people trade with you? ;)
- Ability to update. It doesn't need to be every day, but if you have pending trades for over a week people can forget and trade a card to someone else.

Starter pack

A starter pack will include:
- 3 regular cards from a set of your choice (eg; leo)
- 5 random regular cards
- 1 random special card

After joining please put your cards on your trade log within a week of receiving them. Then you can start playing. Please do not direct link the cards, save them to your own server, photobucket account or something, before adding them to your website.

Trade logs

A trade log is like a blog. Every detail must be written down - dates, what games you played and what cards you won, and what cards you traded etc.
Don't put "Traded a card with Bob" - if you made a trade please put "August 28th; traded piper03 for Bob's paige16". It's less confusing when you update your cards if you know which card you gave away. You MUST take down a card if you have traded it, you do not own it anymore.

On your website you should list the following: level badge linking back to the TCG, total number of cards and trading log. You might also want to include your collectables, cards you will trade, cards you're collecting, cards you want etc. Email me if you have any questions.
You can see an example of a trade log here.

Levelling up

- Level 1.... 1 - 50
- Level 2.... 51 - 100
- Level 3.... 101 - 150
- Level 4.... 151 - 250
- Level 5.... 251 - 350
- Level 6.... 351 - 500
- Level 7.... 501 - 650
- Level 8.... 651 - 850
- Level 9.... 851 - 1000
- Level 10... 1001+

The levels are based on card worth, not card count. You start at level 1 and as you play the game you will eventually level up.
More levels will be added as and when needed.

When you play games you will earn enough cards to go up a level. When you update your trade log with the card count, fill out the form and you will receive:
- 2 regular cards of choice
- 2 random regular cards
- 10 points for your team in Good V Evil
And you can take your new level badge

Mastering a set

You master a card set by earning or trading to gain all the cards in that set. You must not trade any card from a set you've mastered, as it will then be incomplete and you will have to take down your mastered badge until you regain the lost cards.

When you master a set fill out the form and you will receive:
- 2 regular cards of choice
- 2 random regular cards
- 15 points for your team in Good V Evil
- and you can choose your own master badge, which will be on that set's page.

Ways to earn cards

There are lots of ways you can earn cards:
- Playing games
- Trading with other players
- Donating badges
- Levelling up
- Mastering a set
- Making suggestions for games [if they're used]
- Donating pictures for future sets
- Referring new players
- Your birthday
- Informing me about missing cards, broken links etc
- When I feel like giving them away (" ,)
And more.

Special cards

These cards are marked as special as they are the characters' powers and therefore more special. They are worth 2 regular cards (Example 1; if you want someone's travel06 you will need to trade destined05 and prue13 for it. Example 2; if you want someone's renew09 you will need to trade travel01 for it). Please make sure you are trading the right amount of cards.

VANQUISH THAT DEMON!

This is a fun little activity. At certain points [in games or just in a random update] I will give you a page from the Book of Shadows - a little graphic - listing a demon and the ingredients needed for the vanquishing potion. Once you collect all the ingredients you send in a form -like actually throwing the bottle *lol*- and you get random cards and a special "I vanquished [demon]" card to display on your site.
This game will earn you points for your race in Good V Evil if you are in the first three people to vanquish the demon.
BOS page cards do not have any value and will not count in your card total, they are merely instructions!

This game is currently under construction. I will post on the main page when we can start to play :)

Birthdays

Everybody loves getting presents on their birthday, so remember to fill in the box on the join form and you'll get a little something :)

Giveaways

Basically I'll give away free cards on Christmas or Valentines day, or any other day of the year if the mood takes me. I'm pretty generous really.
But be careful when trading these limited cards, they will be worth 3 regular cards so make sure you're trading the right amount for them.

Referring new players

If you get someone to join the TCG, don't forget to tell them to put your name on the join form - you'll get a free random card for every new player ;)

Can I play?

I will be a playing member of The Nexus. I can't play the games like everyone else as I know the answers, so I just get to take the collectables and cards given away in the updates, and will get other members to choose lottery numbers etc for me so it's fair.
I'll also get random cards for making card sets and for making level/master badges the same as members get for donating.

If you don't think this is fair, email me and let me know.
